6 Ways to Personalise Your Wedding Day

Published: 1st December 2017 15:32

Your wedding should reflect both your personalities. Rather than sticking with tradition, why not customise your big day to showcase who you both are to each other’s families. Read the six ways you can personalise your wedding day.

1.     Create Your Wedding Rings

Instead of opting for a standard wedding ring, why not create a bespoke ring that will be unique to the both of you. There are many wedding ring providers online and in-store who will be more than happy to customise a ring to suit your exact tastes, which will make the exchanging of rings extra special for you both.

2.     A Quirky Wedding Venue

There is no reason to marry in a church or hotel if you don’t want to. If they are not your style, why not pick a quirky wedding venue that represents who you both are? For example, you could marry in a barn, say “I do” in a gothic castle, or you could even exchange vows in a cave. Your dream wedding venue is out there – so go and find it.

3.     Choose Wedding Entertainment to Reflect Your Tastes

Have you and your partner got a favourite genre of music? If so, hire a pro wedding entertainer to showcase your love for a specific form of music. For example, you can choose from a variety of talented wedding bands London who specialise in pop, acoustic folk, rock or indie music. It is an effective way to personalise your wedding receptions whilst encouraging guests to get up on their feet to hit the dancefloor.

4.     Create Photo Place Cards

Instead of adding place card names onto the wedding reception tables, add a unique twist by incorporating photos into the seating plan instead. Find and print fun, silly or lovely photos of each wedding guest, which can be used in place of a traditional name card. If a guest is bringing someone you’ve never met, use the photograph of your favourite celebrities to make them laugh, which can highlight your humour.

5.     A Personalised Wedding Cake

Are you not much of a girly girl? If so, you might want to skip the pretty cakes and replace it with someone a little more fun and quirky, which will reflect your personality. For example, if you are both a fan of superheroes or Harry Potter, you could opt for a superhero or Harry Potter wedding cake. It will represent your personality more than any floral decoration.

Another way to make your wedding cake more unique, is by opting for more interesting flavours. Leave vanilla at the door, and think PJ&J or gingerbread cake.

6.     Create a Signature Wedding Cocktail

Everyone loves a delicious cocktail, right? Provide your guests with a delicious concoction both you and your partner have created for your guests. Incorporate your favourite spirits and mixes into the cocktail to create a delicious drink your guests will enjoy upon arrival at your wedding reception. You could even coin it the Mr & Mrs.
