Banyan Theatre will lead a creative rod-puppet making workshop from 12.00-1.30pm followed by a performance of Cinderella "Ashputtel" at 2.30pm on Saturday 26 February 2011 at The Hall at St John's Church, Hallowell Road, Northwood. The Brothers Grimm called her "Ashputtel" because she had no bed to lie down on, but was made to sleep by the hearth among the ashes". Banyan Theatre re-works the classic Cinderella story and reveals a plucky heroine who will delight both young and old with her wit and charm.
Prior to the show sixteen lucky children will have the opportunity to create their own fantastic, fairytale character to take home in a fun and constructive workshop led by puppeteer Joy Haynes of Banyan Theatre.
Local parent Clare Munford who has brought her children to previous shows at St John's said "I saw Frosty Windows last year and thought it was a perfect venue and scale of production for children to enjoy, and the workshops this year make the whole experience more accessible".
Tickets to see Cinderella "Ashputtel" are priced at £6 per person or £20 for a family of four. The workshop tickets are price at £5 per child (accompanying adult is free of charge) and places are limited to 16 children so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment!
