Funding was received last month by Northwood Community Arts, from Heathrow Community and Environment Awards 2011, for the creation of a new public artwork. As a result of this award, an exciting, free arts event will take place at St John's Church in Hallowell Road will take place over three days on 16, 29 and 30 July. Further information on how to participate from ArtReach on 01628 675800 or email mailto:northwoodarts@artreach.biz
On Saturday 16 July a mix of individuals and families from all across the Northwood Community will participate in either a morning or an afternoon workshop, led by experienced, professional artists Bhajan Hunjan and Said Adrus. Participants will be guided to experiment with ideas to help create the initial content and layout for the ‘mural' which will reflect some the arts activities that are in place in Northwood.
Two weeks later on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 July the groups will reconvene to carry out the transfer of the design to full scale and to complete the picture on the larger-than-life panelling before the work is put on permanent display and made visible to the public in the area around St John's Church.
Those wishing to participate should register interest by contacting the ArtReach box office on 01628 675800 or by emailing mailto:northwoodarts@artreach.biz
