Merlin Stops Big Freeze in Northwood!

Author: Joy Tracy Published: 5th October 2012 11:53

Can Merlin halt the fearsome Frost Dragon in his frozen tracks? Northwood residents can find out for themselves at The Hall at St Johns Church in Hallowell Road on Saturday

3 November 2012 at 3pm. Tickets for the family puppet theatre show Merlin and The Frost Dragon go on sale at £7 per person or £25 for a family of 4 and are available from the ArtReach box office on 01628 675800 or by email to northwoodarts@artreach.biz.

It is said that in times of old Merlin would entertain King Arthur with stories of his own magical adventures and daring deeds. Merlin and the Frost Dragon by On The Other Hand Theatre is one of those heroic tales; Merlin uses his magical powers to try and save a village from an eternal winter, created by the Frost Dragon.
The story told using fabulous puppetry and magical effects has a soundscape written especially for the show by Swiss Petrus Project. Director of On The Other Hand Theatre, Ken Haines, is one of the UKs most renowned puppeteers and tours with shows and workshops for both children and adults; he has also worked on theatre productions of Little Shop of Horrors and has recently worked with actress Su Pollard.
Northwood Community Arts children's theatre programme is great theatrical entertainment at great value! Following Cinderella, a previous show, Cheryl Myring a local parent said "I love the fact that Northwood Community Arts has these shows for the kids at The Hall, in Hallowell Road for these reasons; it is local, it is good value for money, and the kids love them - I hope you will continue to put on more shows like this!"
