Wouldn't it be great to be able to say: " I swam the English Channel " !!
Well, you could achieve this, and help out a great charity at the same time. Swim the distance of the English Channel ( 22 miles) in your local pool over a 12 week period and raise money for Aspire and people with spinal cord injuries.
As Sharron Davies, Olympic & Commonwealth swimming champion, says:
The Aspire Channel Swim is a fantastic challenge which can be done by people of all ages and fitness abilities. I have been swimming my whole life and love the sport. Join me in supporting this annual swimming event which you can take part in as a team or really splash out and go it alone. You will not only be getting fitter but also raising awareness for Aspire, the country's leading spinal cord injury charity dedicated to supporting and rehabilitating people with Spinal Injuries".
You can swim on your own, as a team or with your school or youth group. Aspire have some great fund-raising ideas and incentive prizes for all their swimmers.
The total Channel distance simply has to be completed before Sunday 6 December.
