Taxi-Mart Leads Fight back against Unlicensed Taxis

Unlicensed taxis are the scourge of the taxi driver community. In London alone, recent statistics show that 11 women are attacked each month after taking an unlicensed minicab, according to the Taxi Register.
Anyone who travels in an unlicensed cab would not be insured if an accident took place. Cars and vehicles are often not road worthy and excessive rates are commonplace.
David Hurd, former taxi driver and owner of Taxi-Mart, the online shop that provides taxi drivers with a wide range of accessories, believes that cabbies should do all they can to prove to passengers in an instant they are the genuine article.
Make your Cab Stand Out
The best way to do this is to ensure passengers have little doubt which are licensed taxis and which are not.
Hurd says: "The vast majority of passengers understand that licensed taxi drivers are a lot safer and more trustworthy than unlicensed ones. In many cases however, people do not even realise that they are using unlicensed cabs. The only way to show that you are the real deal is to make it blatantly obvious. Invest in an LED taxi rooflight so that you are clearly visible. Keep your licence safely on display in a Docu-Dash holder. The bottom line is, make your cab as professional looking as possible to instil trust."
Taxi Mart stocks a variety of taxi accessories that can help genuine taxi drivers stand out from those who are unlicensed.
