Local club starts season with new players, new pitch, new league and a new urge for success.
Kings Heath Pickwick Hockey Clubs future is looking promising with the return of a few home grown players from university and the addition of some new signings has strengthned the club along with the current base of County and ex National League players. After gaining promotion last season they are looking forward to a new era of hockey and have high hopes of a successful season. The Hockey Club has 4 Mens teams, 2 Ladies teams a Junior team and a mid week over 35`s team. So whether you are new to the sport or an experienced player there is a team for you to play in.
Coaching provided at Kings Heath Hockey Club is free to all that attend and the Head Coach, Chris Davis is currently completing his level III coaching badge and has coached all over the Midlands and Australia. Training is held at Woodrush School Astro Turf Pitch, B47 6LZ on Thursdays from 19.30-21.30 and junior training is held on a Sunday 10.00-12.00.
With the continuing support of "Solo Hockey" who are based in the south of Birmingham and being one of the newest hockey brands in the market wanted to support a local club. Sohail Abbas from Solo Hockey (part of) Boundary Sports, Grange Rd, Kings Heath is supplying the club with kit, sticks and equipment to help Kings Heath HC push for further success this season.
Jason McCourt the Director of Hockey at Kings Heath HC commented, "it is rewarding to see that our youth policy has produced so many fine players that sometimes go on to bigger things but they still hold Kings Heath as their home club and wish to return to it, we are very hopeful of a succesful season with the squad we have and the continuing support of our sponsors"
