Haskins Garden Centre in Roundstone has launched its Postcards of Kindness campaign which has encouraged children from Orchards Junior School to design their own special Christmas message for elderly members of the community.
Pupils from Orchards Junior School hand-crafted more than 500 postcards for the elderly patients at Worthing Hospital to bring some festive cheer to those that will be spending Christmas away from home.
As a thank you for taking the time to produce the personalised postcards for the patients, the school received a donation of more than 100 cuddly Christmas toys from Haskins.
Lisa Looker, brand director at Haskins, said: "We wanted to make it our mission this Christmas to ensure that everyone in the community feels included in the festive celebrations, as it can be a difficult time of year for many people.
"We hope we have facilitated a Christmas experience for both our local pupils and patients of Worthing Hospital that they will cherish for years to come."
Haskins has donated more than 400 Christmas toys to schools and charities across the south this festive season, in communities that are local to its centres.
Haskins is located in Ferndown (Dorset), West End (Southampton), Roundstone and Snowhill (West Sussex). Haskins Snowhill is currently closed to carry out the final phase of the centre's redevelopment plan, ahead of re-opening for business in spring 2020.
