Local Co-ops Support Yorkshire Food
Yorkshire is renowned for its culinary delights in food and drink. From curry to rhubarb, Wensleydale cheese to real ale, wine to liquorice - a real ‘foodies' paradise.
That's why it's brilliant to see that our three local Cooperative stores, Oakwood, Chapel Allerton and Roundhay, are supporting local food producers in Yorkshire. The Cooperative are strong supporters of local producers and trade with 2000+ local farmers and 550+ UK suppliers.
One of such local food producers is Yorkshire based, Three Little Pigs, who have just secured a listing of their award-winning Spicy Chorizo sausage. Recently their chorizo sausage was handpicked to be part of an exclusive menu at the Pitch@Palace event at St James's Palace hosted by the Duke of York & have also excelled by winning a Taste of Excellence Award this year!
Three Little Pigs cure and hand-make Yorkshire chorizo on their family farm in Kiplingcotes, East Yorkshire. Made from rare breed pigs, that roam freely on the farm in the Yorkshire countryside, giving their products a distinctive flavour. The award winning ready-to-eat chorizo is perfect for both snacking and cooking.
It really does makes a fabulous fridge staple to liven up any stew or casserole. Alternatively, try this slow cooked rabbit and chorizo casserole, easily substituted with chicken legs.
So why not pop down to your local Co-op and see the fine array of high quality Yorkshire food and drink & pick up some tasty Three Little Pigs Chorizo sausage.
