The world of online gambling including online casinos and betting companies have provided us with some hilarious and fun adverts in the past few years. Some were funny, some were more controversial.
There have been lots of noteworthy ads over the years, and in this article, we will look at five of the best ones in our personal opinion.
Vampire Gaming by Virgin Games
The first of our favourite gambling adverts comes from Virgin Games. Some adverts can be a little dull and boring, but this one is great because of the storyline. The story is focused on Vlad, a vampire who is working in a supermarket. The point of this advert is that Vlad the vampire is feeling alive for the first time in centuries, thanks to the games at Virgin Games. The ending of the advert is superb as Vlad is on a date with what looks to be a young good looking woman but it turns out that he is on a date with an old lady he met at the shop.
Jose Mourinho- Paddy Power
One of the biggest blockbuster adverts to come in recent times. Paddy Power teamed up with superstar football manager Jose Mourinho to show a day in the life of the “special one”. Jose discusses how special people live their lives eg attracting attention, asking for more money in the salary and choosing new suits. Mourinho then steps into a cab whilst playing a Paddy Power game on his phone and he wins the jackpot. However, the point of the advert is to show that you don’t have to be special to win the jackpot at Paddy Power.
Beat the boss- BGO
BGO casino challenged players to beat the boss as many times as they can. The boss of the advert was legendary actor Verne Troyer. The top advert is a parody of the classic MC Hammer song, which is renamed “Can’t beat this”. The advert is hilarious from start to finish and is well worth a watch.
Anthony Joshua- William Hill
Another high profile advert from a betting company. This one involves World Heavyweight Champion Boxer Anthony Joshua. In this advert, the colour is removed and everything is in black and white and it’s very dramatic as AJ is about to land the knockout blow and then everything just goes into slow motion. AJ then dances around the ring as his gloves start to glow white and he then returns to the ring to end the bout. This advert oozes class and high production value.
Sun Bingo- Are You Gonna Bingo
The last of our adverts is one of those that is so bad its funny. It is hard to tell what exactly they were trying to do with this adverts. The advert features three young women dressed in casual clothes and clad in cheap jewellery singing a version of the Funky Dee song Are You Gonna Bang Doe. The advert’s tune is quite catchy and caught a lot of attention on social media.
