TV Presenter and Renowned Designer Helps Thorp Arch Emporium Celebrate First Birthday
Decoporium welcomed TV presenter, designer and entrepreneur Max McMurdo as they marked their first year of trading.
Designed to suit all styles and budgets, Decoporium provides a vast range of interior design ideas sold by individual traders and craftspeople.
Honouring their first full year in business, the Thorp Arch-based emporium welcomed families for a day of entertainment and shopping, and an opportunity to meet upcycler Max McMurdo.
Armed with a mug of Yorkshire tea, Max spent the afternoon chatting with a variety of traders and exploring their individual work.
Speaking to the audience of traders and shoppers, Max was full of praise for Decoporium's concept. ‘An opportunity to sell your work through a facility like Decoporium allows you to focus on the emotion invested in the piece you've created, rather than the need to sell it,' said Max. ‘Trading at Decoporium prevents profit margins being the focus of your sale, and allows you to enjoy the reward of creating, and selling, a piece of your work.'
Based on Thorp Arch trading estate near Wetherby, Decoporium is home to over 77 traders. Owned and managed by Billie Ager-Mills, who also designs and sells her own work - Sillie Bille - from Decoporium, a remarkable first year's growth attracts an increasing number of diverse traders and visitors every week.
