Towcester and District Lions Club, the local branch of the global charity Lions Club International, presented a cheque for £250 to the Northampton based charity, Deafconnect, just one of the local charities that the Towcester club raises funds for to help keep them running. The cheque was presented by Graham Edmonds, President of the Towcester and District Lions Club, to Joanna Steer from Deafconnect.
Deafconnect have been around for 140 years, and are an organisation aimed at empowering Deaf, hard of hearing, and Deafblind members of the community, for whom communication can be very difficult and often very isolating.
