So, as the 2016/2017 season of the Chiltern Cross Country League draws to a close, Silson AC begin their preparations for the road running season.  Silson AC had a brilliant time running in the Chiltern League this year and were thrilled to see their U13 Boys team finish in 2nd place and their U13 Girls team finish in 3rd.  The final round took place at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes on what was a bitterly cold and snowy Saturday.  Despite the weather, the Silson AC runners ran their hardest and finished happy with their efforts on this hilly course.  A special mention goes to Eleanor Rees, who completed her 35th consecutive Chiltern League Race for Silson AC at this event, such commitment, well done Eleanor!

Whilst his team members were freezing in Campbell Park, Jay Smith was lucky enough to grab a warm and shiny new PB of 19:46 whilst partaking in a little parkrun tourism in Clermont, Florida.

Chelsey Rose finished the Bowie Challenge event feeling over the moon after taking an amazing 36 minutes off of her previous Marathon PB.  Chelsey completed this event with her dad, Paul Rose, and said “I have no idea where my new PB came from but a huge thank you goes to Dad who supported and encouraged me the whole way round”.   Paul, who is no stranger to Marathons himself, completed this event (his 93rd Marathon) with Chelsey on Saturday in 4:33 and then went on to complete the SVN Gothic Challenge (his 94th Marathon) on Sunday in 4:14!  Chelsey also ran another 11 miles at this event whilst supporting her sister, Amber Rose who completed 15 miles.  What an incredibly family!

On Sunday, Michael Spencer completed the Wokingham Half Marathon. On what was once again a very cold day, he managed to gain a new PB of 1:31:09. Michael said that it was a great course and that he was delighted to have run it nearly 2 minutes faster than he did last year.

Don’t forget that entries are now open for the Silverstone Grand Prix 10k race, which will take place on Tuesday 2nd May 2017.
