Finding the right vet for your pet is now a lot easier for Neston households.
These days a lot of veterinary practicies are owned by faceless corporations, but still carry the original name of their independent founders. That can make it hard for pet owners to know who they are actually dealing with.
Sanderson Vet offers Neston pet lovers a truly independent, local service, with unique features. Their service brings together unrivalled veterinary expertise, state of the art facilities and the flexibility of choosing whether to have your pet seen at home.
Richard Sanderson (and friend) - mobile veterinary service meeting the highest standards of care.
Originally from Wolverhampton, Richard Sanderson trained at the University of Liverpool, spending several years in both training and practice at Leahurst Campus in Neston before launching his own independent veterinary practice. He then spent a few years travelling around the country, learning as much as he could from veterinary practices of all shapes and sizes. Now, Richard is delighted to have returned to Neston.
He explains: "I wanted to learn what works and doesn't work for pet owners, practices and of course, for the animals themselves.
"In between all the travelling, I've been running my mobile practice in and around Neston for several years, quietly building up a lovely list of clients. I'm staying in one place now and will continue to provide that service, treating as many pets as possible in the reduced-stress environment of their own homes. However, my passion has always been to back that up with additional infrastructure and equipment to be able to offer a wider range of services and specialties.
"With our brand new clinic in Pensby Road, Heswall, we can offer treatment and care for more complex conditions, that might otherwise require a referral or hospitalisation.
"We have a great team. In addition to myself and Practice Manager Sara Sheppard, we have specialists in Soft Tissue Surgery, Cardiology and Diagnostic Imaging and a consultation orthopaedic surgeon. At the clinic we have a fully equipped operating theatre, and our equipment includes a highly sophisticated dental machine, safe monitoring facilities and a full X-ray system. Basically, we have equipment that is the equivalent to what is used in the best of hospitals for humans.
"Our kennels with animal beds, where we monitor pets as they recover from procedures, are reduced-stress environments. Instead of traditional metal, they are made from polyurethane, which makes them warmer and quieter, with tinted see-through doors, to reduce exposure to harsh lighting."
Richard and his team can treat all domestic pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish and exotics.
Here's what a few happy customers have to say:
Kerry MacFarlane: "We are so glad we changed over to his practice. The initial benefit of Richard coming to the house became invaluable especially helping care for our elderly dog. Our animals are less stressed as they are at home! I would strongly recommend Sanderson Vet to all pet owners in the local area, 5* affordable treatment and advise always."
Fiona Hughes: "Biggles has never looked so well. Richard is a mobile vet which is fantastic as Biggles is so much more relaxed being treated at home. I cannot recommend him enough."
Alex Latimer: "Richard is amazing with our two cats, with him visiting our home the cats are much more relaxed. We would never go anywhere else now, as it is clear he really cares and is very knowledgable. It's great to know he is only a phone call away."
Vanessa Jones: "Couldn't recommend Richard any more if I tried. Extremely early diagnosis of my puppy's liver problems means that Meredith is still with us now. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Richard. Highly professional and reliable."
Sally Buttifant: "Compassionate, caring, sensitive - thank you for helping quickly & appropriately - very much appreciated by us all."
Maria Whalley, Neston Pet Supplies & Dog Grooming: "My main reasons for changing to Richard was the fact he does all his consultations in your own home, less stress for your pet and no travelling for you. Richard is very thorough and fantastic with my dogs; they both took to him very well as well as Sara his fantastic assistant. I have also recently used Richard to treat a sick guinea pig that was under our care, he arrived promptly and sorted the problem straight away. I do not hesitate to recommend Sanderson Vet to all my customers."
From September 25th, Sanderson Vets will be available at Neston Pet Supplies in Bridge Street from 5pm to 6.3pm.
