The centre is run by myself, Howard Jones and my wife Linda.  We have over 20 years experience working in primary and secondary schools in this area.  We have been tutoring at the Centre for 5 years and now have over 100 students!  We also employ a number of excellent, qualified teachers, all of whom are fully CRB checked.

We have moved next door in the Cumberland Business Centre to a bigger centre.  It is all brand new with lovely signs inside and out.  We do hope that you can come down and have a look. 

What We Do

If you are not happy with the progress your child is making in reading, writing, spelling or maths; then we will be happy to help you.

At Kip McGrath we provide professional tuition in Maths and English for children aged 6 - 16.  We also help children who are working towards specific exams such as Common Entrance, GCSE and SATs.

We carry out a free assessment for every student.  After that we can see exactly what each child can a cannot do.  We design an individual programme for each child to help them in their weak areas.  Each week we see where they are successful and where they need more help.  Usually the work will get a little harder each time to make sure we are challenging the students, but also finding new areas and topics to work on.

Students usually attend the centre once a week for 80 minute sessions when they follow their individual programmes. They are given one-to-one tuition in groups of 5 or less children. Progress is carefully monitored and regular re-assessment is part of the programme. Each child learns at their own pace and we aim to provide a fun, confidence building environment to enable them to make real progress and achieve their full potential.
