Make a Day of It
Don't forget to visit Waltham Abbey's permanent shops too - Waltham Abbey is proud of its great independent shops, cafes and restaurants including David Beckham's favourite pie and mash shop "Tony's" on Market Square with unique items and excellent customer service.
There are lots of local attractions to see as well - the famous Waltham Abbey Church and the ruins of the Monastery, Abbey Gardens, Epping Forest District Museum (currently closed for refurbishment opening Autumn 2015), Lee Valley Park and Lee Valley White Water Centre are all free to visit (charge for rafting or canoeing but free entrance to watch). The Royal Gunpowder Mills (open school holidays and weekends from April to Sept) and Lee Valley Park Farms (open February to November) are popular paying attractions that are well worth a visit.
New Traders Wanted
Did you know that Marks & Spencers, Tesco and Morrisons all started out as market stalls and are now hugely successful businesses. Why not think about taking a market stall yourself - please contact the Town Hall for details of trader rates and stall sizes. Public liability insurance is required before trading is approved. You might like to take a look at National Market Traders Federation website for further advice: http://www.nmtf.co.uk/
