What to expect when visiting us?

On your first visit, our medical assistant will ask you about the history and current state of your problem and details about the medication that you have been taking.

You will then be advised whether an appointment should be made for you to see our consulting herbalist or acupuncturist or whether some ready-made OTC products may be more appropriate.

Either way, the decision is yours!

Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine, filiform needles through the skin at specific points on the body with the intention of manipulating Qi. The filiform needles are solid, as opposed to the hollow hypodermic needles most people are familiar with, and are usually made of stainless steel.

What should I expect after the treatment?

Most patients feel pleasantly relaxed and refreshed after an acupuncture treatment. Patients who were experiencing pain before the acupuncture session are often pleasantly surprised to find their discomfort greatly reduced after the treatment.

What common complaints can be treated faster and more effectively by us?

How long do I take the herbal medicine or acupuncture treatment?

As chinese herbal medicine contains no chemicals, steriods or other artificial substances it can take one or more weeks - depending on your metabolism - before you can detect an improvement in your condition.

Depending on the condition, it can take 4 - 12 weeks before complete cure can be obtained.

Acupunture is generally performed once or twice a week. An improvement should be noticeable after three sessions and the treatment normally completed after 4 - 6 weeks.
