Happy Mothers' Day to all the mums out there, we hope you're enjoying your special day.

Unfortunately, Pompey's special day yesterday was spoiled following a nail-biting end to the EFL Cup Final at Wembley, with Salford City winning a penalty shoot-out decider. Let's hope the team bounce back strongly and finish their League 1 campaign with a flourish.

However, it was a very special day yesterday for the team here at AboutMyArea Portsmouth/Island City Living as we announced that our brand-new Mobile App is to be launched at the end of March. The app will be a one-stop-shop for all things Portsmouth and will feature:

• Local news and community information

• A Portsmouth Business Directory

• Events calendar and coverage

• Special offers and loyalty programmes

• Photo and video galleries

• Student and visitor information

As the City opens up again over the coming months there will be more and more content added and we hope that it will become a 'go-to app' for our residents, students and and those who work in and visit Portsmouth. We can’t wait for you to be able to download it and look forward to your feedback and suggestions as to how we can make it even better.

There will also be lots of posters up around Portsmouth from the end of March promoting the app and watch out for our promo video playing in Guildall Square, with stunning drone footage filmed by our friends at Solent Sky Services, from 12th April!
