Welcome to Neston News - your weekly round-up of news, events and more, from the pages of AboutMyArea CH64. Open in Browser (some email programmes mess with the layout). This week's newsletter header features Bernard Rose's shot of some of the beautiful knitted poppies adorning the railings around the war memorial outside the Parish Church. Sunday's Remembrance Parade was wet but very well attended and our article features a number of photos of the day and other ways in which local people have been marking the occasion. Read all about it here. This week at Neston Civic Hall, Neston Players bring us 'My Boy Jack' - a moving drama about the effects of war on Rudyard Kipling's family. I'm told it's theatrical gold, so please don't miss out - all ticket information is here. Now we are officially past Bonfire Night, we have to embrace the upcoming Christmas events with full steam ahead. Up first are the Lantern Workshops. If your child wishes to participate in the Lanterns Parade on Saturday December 5th, they will need to make a lantern. As well as running workshops in schools, CAN Group have workshops on at the Town Hall on the 15th and 22 November. Details here. Also, PLEASE, if you can spare a bit of time, could you help out the Events Group and CAN with the Christmas celebrations in Neston? Details of the help needed can be found here. Have a great week, Carrie & the AboutMyArea team Tel: 0151 336 2734 / Email: carriespacey@aboutmyarea.co.uk Join the conversation: Facebook: AboutMyArea Neston Twitter: @NestonNews
