Whether you want to order a celebration cake or decorate your own all your needs are here.  Lynda has been making wedding and celebration cakes for 22 years.  The shop has recently been extended and more sugar craft supplies have been added to help novice and professional cake makers.

The Black Bull Brampton

The Black Bull is one of the oldest pubs in Brampton. The pub was originally constructed in the 16th century with some additional work taking place in the 17th & 18th century. It is known that Samuel Pepys, the diarist, who lived in the village, took his ale in The Black Bull Inn.

The Black Bull is a traditional dog friendly pub and restaurant specialising in real ales and good home cooked food. It offers a restaurant area with table service, a split level bar with plenty of seating and beer garden and a large car park.

The Black bull offers traditional home cooked food. From snacks to main meals there is plenty to choose from. The blackboard in our main bar features our selection of homemade pies which are made on the premises by our own chefs. Quiz Night

Sunday night is always a hugely popular night at the Rivermill, as it is the one night of the week that we hold a general knowledge quiz for all to enter. For a nominal entry fee (50 pence per person!) you can enter a team of up to six people to compete to win either the total sum of the entrance money, or a "Gallon of beer"; effectively eight pints or alternative drinks.

The team in second place wins whatever the winners reject. Those who come in "second-to-last" don't walk away empty handed either; that team wins the "goody bag" which has a mixture of all sorts of tuck inside!

Even if you don't have any luck in the quiz, fate may still be on your side, as we end the evening with a game of "Play your cards wrong". Raffle tickets can be purchased for a pound per strip, and if your ticket is pulled out of the hat you are given the chance to guess a sequence of 8 cards; whether each will be higher or lower in number then the previous.

Up to five people per week can be drawn from the hat; if no-one wins, the prize money carries over to the following week. Some of our winners have carried away over £900 before now!

Open Mic nights 

Every Tuesday night The Rivermill Tavern showcases local musicians and emerging talent, by means of staging an 'open mic' night. This gives musicians af all ages and abilities the opportunity to perform in public, and also watch others play a mixture of cover versions and original material.

Tuesdays have quickly developed into one of the busiest nights of the week at The Rivermill, with musicians and spectators getting progressively larger in number each week! We have some absolutely amazing musicians playing, including some top professionals who are always willing to pass on their knowledge and help to less experienced players.

So, bring along an instrument, or just bring yourself, and come and join in the action from 9pm onwards. You will always be made to feel welcome, there is no need to be afraid or shy; There is no pressure to play, and we always welcome new faces.


The night works like this: Those who would like to play bring their instrument(s) and put their name down on a chalkboard. Each artist will play 3 or 4 songs, depending how many musicians wish to play on the night in question. Everyone from the absolute beginner to the professional musician is welcome to come and join in.

So what are you waiting for? Dust off that guitar, re-string that old bass, and get down to The Rivermill on Tuesday!
