Lantern Procession & Brass Band Concert

Published: 3rd December 2009 12:24

Rotary Club of Neston and CAN Group organised the Lantern Procession and Brass Band Carol Concert at the Parish Church.

Children made their own Lanterns in Workshops organised by CAN, and set off from the car park of the Brewers Arms in a procession, led by representatives from various organisations involved with the Neston Christmas Festival.

Lantern ProcessionThe Lantern Procession was led by representatives of local organisations - (l-r) Robin Hughes, ch64inc; Paul Davies, Chairman of Neston & District Chamber of Trade; Michael Darby, Chairman of Project Rural Matters; Cllr Mike Wellman, Deputy Chairman of Neston Town Council; Steve Martin, President of Neston Rotary Club; Revd Neill Robb, Neston Parish Church. The Procession made its way down the High Street and into the Parish Church, where a Carol Concert was led by the Port Sunlight Lyceum Brass Band.

A raffle was organised by Rotary, raising funds for local and international good causes. Many volunteers from Rotary were on hand to ensure proceedings ran smoothly.

A very special visitor then arrived to the delight of the children, who were very excited to meet Santa and let him know what they would like for Christmas!
