The first Parkgate fest was 3rd June 2017. That was over 8 months ago. It was a great success and funded partly by CWaC (I think £1000 from Martin Barkers budget) .

I went and it was assisted by many local volunteers and sold itself by raising funds for Parkgate community projects.

All that was over 8 months ago. Before buying tickets again can i ask :-

1 How much was raised for local projects

2 What is the money going to be spent on specifically.

3 Are you going to or has Parkgate Fest published accounts showing were the money ha been spent.

Si, for an event of this type to avoid a loss or just to break even in its first year is pretty exceptional (if not unheard of). Fortunately, thanks to a terrific effort on the part of all involved, the festival did manage to make a surplus. There is definitely money going back into the community; I believe the organisers were having to wait and see how much they would have to pay out by way of deposits for this year's festival before they could release the final amount, but I will double check and ask for the details to be provided as soon as is practical.

Rest assured, this is a community-based festival organised by good people with the very best of intentions.

Hi Si,
The Parkgatefest accounts will be transparent at the next Parkgate Forum meeting which I am being advised is March time (exact dates TBC)
There is approximately £1750 being invested directly into projects in Parkgate of which suggestions will be sought at the same meeting, the remainder is being used for deposits to secure certain attractions for this years event.

Kind regards

Can I ask before I commit to possibly squandering a whole fifteen pounds what the range of ales will be, the % meat content of the hot dog sausages and what the hand sanitiser will be in the portaloos?

Can't take chances these days and risk placing my faith in well intentioned volunteers giving up their free time to bring something good to the community.

Thanks in advance
