AboutMyArea EN9 community resource for Waltham Abbey, Upshire and Nazeing

Welcome 

We hope you find this website enjoyable and informative - first and foremost it is community website to inform local residents in the EN9 region (Waltham Abbey, Upshire, Nazeing and the surrounding villages of Epping Forest District) about what is going on, to report on positive news, to support and forge links in the community as well as help promote our businesses and the wonderful attractions we have in our historic town.  To make a difference!

Please take a look around, our Latest Section with positive news items, reviews and articles are listed above and we have other useful sections including Clubs & Organisations listings, Useful Telephone Numbers and Website links, Places to Go, Things to Do, Eating Out and a lot more....

We launched in the summer of 2008, so the site is still developing and evolving, but we are working towards the website including everything you need to know locally all in one place.  The more contributions from the community, the more interesting and informative the website will become - please join in and help it grow and expand.  Keep the spirit of community alive in EN9!  

Competition Winners

Congratulations to Sophie Griffin on winning our photo quiz competition at the Help for Heroes Family Fun Day - hope you enjoy a wonderful day out with your family at the Royal Gunpowder Mills.

Congratulations to Hazel Towns on winning our James & the Giant Peach competition for a family ticket to see the outdoor performance at Gunpowder Park on 24th August.  The answer to the question of what was the full name of the main character: James Henry Trotter.

New CM16 and IG10 AboutMyArea Websites

We have recently taken on the CM16 and IG10 postcode websites too.

There would be no monthly overheads, you would receive a high percentage of the fees for all the advertising you secured. Flexible working hours, no sales experience needed (although may be an advantage), a friendly and enthusiastic personality is more important and a good knowledge of the CM16 (Epping & North Weald) or IG10 (Loughton) postcode area and community spirit is essential.  The opportunity potential is great !

Please take a look at our new Health Section with articles and information on Medical, Fitness and Wellbeing.   We would like to thank LG Personal Training for sponsoring this section and for their monthly Fitness Tip of the Month.

Our new Lifestyle Section is packed with articles and information on Green Issues, Money Matters, Motoring, Food & Drink, Home, Gardening, Pets Corner, People and IT Tips.  We are currently looking for sponsoring for these new sections who will have a static position on the page relevant to their business.  If you are interested please get in touch.

If you do not have your own website, we could give your club their own section of the website to help increase your membership and communicate with current members.
