TALES OF THE TOWN

Despite the huge disappointment of not being able to obtain the promised supply of Tales of the Town last week, for which we are very sorry, we remain optimistic that they will be with us by the end of next week and will therefore be available for the Kettering home game on the 16 December. Additionally it should therefore be possible to fulfill online orders in time for Christmas.

HITCHIN TOWN LADIES

The Ladies are at home to Garston Ladies on Sunday 10 December at Swinburne Avenue kick off 2.00pm.

MATT LENCH

Ahead of Slough's Monday night F A Cup encounter with Rochdale Matt Lench chose to come to Top Field on Saturday to watch his former team mates. He was warmly welcomed but next Monday he may be less popular!

PLAYER NEWS

Congratulations to Kavan Cotter who was recalled from his loan spell at Hitchin to play for Luton in their Checkatrade Trophy game against West Ham Under 21's on Tuesday. Kavan played in midfield and to cap a great night scored his first senior goal in a 4-0 win.

Hitchin have signed Kevin Byrne. He is a 21 year old defender who was born in Florida and played for Parkland Predators in America.

Jay Dowie, Charlie Smith and Brett Donnelly face fitness tests ahead of the Dorchester game.

RACE NIGHT

Please support the Race Night at Canary Club on Friday 8 December. There is free admission and the first race is at 7.30pm. All profits go to the ground regeneration fund. There is tote style betting at £1 per bet and it is always an enjoyable evening. One of the races features horses owned by the players which is always interesting to see what names they choose!

MANAGER'S NOTES

DUNSTABLE

I was very happy with our first half performance and thought some of our approach play was very good. We kept the ball on the ground and played an attractive style of football. We created numerous chances without having that clinical finish so it was goalless at half time. Dunstable deserved credit for working very hard at preventing us from scoring but that is only what I expected.

We got off to a great start in the second half as we scored within two minutes. But I was a little frustrated that we did not kick on and put Dunstable to the sword. However I was happy to get the three points and a clean sheet.

BISHOPS STORTFORD

We began out Herts Senior Cup campaign against a youthful Bishops Stortford side as we looked to retain the trophy for a third consecutive season. Once again we played some flowing, passing football and looked dangerous in attack. I was also pleased with our defending as we restricted the chances they were able to create.

We virtually killed the game off with three quick strikes before half time and I was very content . Stortford should have scored soon after the interval and we were fortunate to be let off as had the chance been taken the game could have been more interesting.

I was very disappointed with the actions of Ben Walster who was deservedly red carded for an awful challenge. This is unacceptable and he will be dealt with internally.

DORCHESTER

On Saturday we face a tough trip to Dorchester who despite losing on Monday have a good home record and we will not take the game lightly. Their manager Steve Thompson has started to mould his team to the way he wants to play. They have been missing key players who are now returning and we will need to be on our game to get a result.

SLOUGH

Slough have had a fantastic season so far and deservedly enjoyed the media spotlight for their F A Cup exploits. I know their managers Bakes and Unders will be firmly turning their attention back to the league and they are in a great position at the moment.

We have lost our last two games to Slough and I am certainly out for revenge. It will be good to see Matt Lench again but hopefully he will be returning to Slough empty handed.
