The Rotary Club of Towcester was delighted to visit William Blake House in Blakesley last week where recent funds that the Club had raised have been used to help create raised gardens for the Residents of William Blake House to enjoy and manage.
William Blake House is a Residential Care Home for adults with severe learning difficulties and provides 24/7 care in a wonderful, caring and welcoming environment. Through its plethora of activities which include social, physical, leisure and work placements, WBH aims to provide a rewarding and enriching life for its Residents. For more information, you can visit:
The new raised gardens provide the Residents with daily jobs such as seed selection, seed planting, weeding, digging up the vegetables etc. – all in a healthy, safe, outdoor environment and being raised the beds are accessible even by those confined to wheel chairs. Currently the beds have an array of beautiful flowers that the residents can also enjoy whilst simply being in the outdoor space.
