The Cavalry Charge of the Grafton Hunt at Easton Neston on Boxing Day 2011
The Grafton Hunt met for their Stirrup Cup at Easton Neston on Boxing Day.
After last year's snow and ice, it was good to see the hunt turn out with hounds to thousands of spectators and hunt supporters proving the hunt’s popularity with the rural community despite a ban on fox hunting introduced by the Hunting Act in 2005.
The Grafton Hunt are in good order but an appeal went out to get legislation passed by the last government repealed to allow fox hunting to take place again. A clear message was sent from the Grafton that the ban is not in the interests of the countryside and certainly not on the grounds of animal cruelty.
The Editor of AboutMyArea/NN12 went along and managed to get some snaps including the cavalry charge up the hill towards the house.
The Boxing Day Meet of the Grafton is traditionally held on Boxing Day except when it falls on a Sunday.
Many supporters either went on to follow the hunt or up to Towcester Races.
