What are the fastest growing business in the UK?

Published: 19th April 2017 10:53

Times are changing in the British business sphere. Whilst on one hand we are entering a period of uncertainty due to Brexit and the political, social, and economical chaos it will bring, at the same time it does signify the start of a new era for British business. This new start will give power back to the British and allow business owners to redefine their own success, challenge new markets, and be free of any restrictions that may have been imposed by the EU in the past. Whilst it is sure to be a bumpy few years economists are confident that small and medium sized enterprises will prevail and continue to be successful in the coming years.

So, what are the fastest growing businesses in the UK at the moment? If you are considering starting your own business, these could be some sectors to look out for!

1.     Online betting.

Sports betting has been around for hundreds of years and everyone loves to take a quick punt on the horses or the outcome of their favourite football teams latest match. For those that want to do so from the convenience of their portable device, there are now lots of great online sites offering Free Bets to customers for a range of sports. Due to its convenience and 24/7 possibilities it is quickly becoming one of the quickest growing and most lucrative industries in the UK!

2.     Food and drink.

Yes the market may be saturated with restaurants, cafes, pop-ups, bistros, speciality food places and more but people will always want food! The demand for good quality food and drink will always be there and with Brexit around the corner, now is the time to rediscover British cuisine and local British produce. With the popularity of review sites, you can also advertise for free and rely on the input of happy customers to promote your business. From fish, meat and poultry, to vegetables, fruit and even beers, ales, and ciders- British products are going to see a huge increase in demand so jumping on this bandwagon is a great way to cash in over the next few years!

3.     Recruitment.

With low unemployment rates and a booming business sector, recruitment is one of the biggest growing sectors in the UK. From huge national corporations, to smaller localised firms, and one man bands, there is no shortage for the requirement for good quality staff to fill a huge range of roles. The demand for staff and personnel is always going to be there and the need to take the administrative burden off business owners, and entrust the job search to highly qualified and experienced professionals is incredibly high and shows no sign of slowing down. It is a key service in the corporate world and the money is good for those involved.

These are just three areas that are seeing consistent growth in the UK at the moment. It is expected that as demand continues to increase, so will the need for good quality services. Brexit is just a momentary blip and what will emerge is a UK-centric economy based on supply and demand for excellent quality British products.
