Make supporting the NSPCC in London your New Year resolution
| Published: 5th January 2012 15:04 |
I am writing on behalf of the NSPCC to ask AboutMyArea readers when thinking about their New Year resolutions, to consider supporting ChildLine during its 25th anniversary year, a service dedicated to making a fundamental difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people in London and throughout the UK. The NSPCC relies heavily on the support of local people in order to provide its services for children and their families and we really do appreciate the efforts that people go to.
Whatever skills, talent or time people have available the NSPCC could put them to good use to help support these vital services and help continue the charity's work in 2012.
This year we are making a special appeal to anyone in South London to get involved in the NSPCC's London HACK on 15 September. We would also like to encourage people to enter our Step Change 2012 challenge on 4 March and race up the iconic ‘Gherkin' building in London in a bid to raise funds for ChildLine.
Anyone wishing to find out more about the NSPCC or how they can support us should contact their local fundraising team on either 01908 328 060 for North London or 01293 651 840 for South London. You can also log on to www.nspcc.org.uk.
Best wishes for 2012,
