St Gemma's Hospice Midnight Walk
|Published: 12th February 2010 18:31|
We are delighted to announce that The Midnight Walk in aid of St. Gemma's Hospice will be officially launched on Friday 19 & Saturday 20 February at The Light retail and leisure centre in Leeds. You can join us between 12pm - 7pm on Friday and 12pm-5pm on Saturday at The Light on The Headrow to find out about The Midnight Walk and even register to take part.
We will be handing out leaflets about the event, showing a film about what happened at last year's event and there will be the opportunity for you to start your walking training by stepping on step blocks. (Did you know that 2,000 steps on a step block is 1 mile?) If you are in Leeds city centre on Friday or Saturday next week then why not come down and see what it is all about.
The Midnight Walk is a ladies only 6 mile or 12 mile sponsored walk which starts at midnight. The walk will take place on Saturday 15 May and is kindly supported by Leeds Rugby, 96.3 Radio Aire, Virgin Active, McDonalds, Bagel Nash & The Light. Last year almost 900 ladies took part in the walk, raised over £70,000 for St. Gemma's Hospice and had a fantastic night!
"I'm not sure what I expected but I absolutely did not expect to enjoy the event anywhere near as much as I did. I will definitely be signing up for next year!"
