Heybridge Huts

Having lived in Saltcote Maltings for just over a year now and not having a garden of our own but having a dog who requires walking 4 times a day, I often find myself walking along the sea wall.
On these walks I regularly pass the half a dozen stilted huts on the sea wall at the end of Wharf Road between Saltcote Sailing Club and Mill Beach Marine.
In all the time I have been doing this I have only seen one or two of the huts being used on very few occassions. At least two of the huts look like they could fall over at any moment and others, that also appear unused, are in need of some tlc.
They appear to be somewhat of a local landmark and I'm sure have seen a lot of history. Indeed I am aware that they were used as a set in the filming of The Fourth Protocol, the 1987 film with Michael Caine and Pierce Brosnan. Some seens were shot inside the first hut (nr 6) together with Saltcote Sailing Club which was turned into a cafe for the film.
It would be a shame if they continued to deteriorate and eventually dissappear. It seems to me they should be put to good use. I have tried in vain to find who owns or manages these huts but have drawn a blank. So if anyone could provide information in this respect then please contact me via the website and perhaps we can ensure their continued presence.
Thanks. P

My name is Emma and I am a reporter on the Maldon and Burnham Standard. I am very interested in what you have wrote about the Heybridge huts. It would be a shame to see them fall into more disrepair especially considering they are an important local landmark.
I'd like to write something up on this to try and draw this to the attention of others who might be interested and try and research it a bit further.
Would we be ok to have a chat about this? I'm only new on the website and don't know another way of contacting you.
Thanks,
Emma.
