The Wymering Manor Trust are celebrating after winning the Bonus Award in the People's Millions.
The news was announced tonight on Meridian News and means that the trust will receive £50k towards work to restore parts of the manor.
The People's Millions is a grants programme partnership between ITV and the Big Lottery Fund and gives local projects the chance to get an injection of cash with help from the public who vote for their favourite project.
The campaign failed to get enough votes in their round on Tuesday when they presented the "Mind Your Manor" campaign with the help of children from Medina Primary School. However, they had the next highest number of votes out of all the remaining projects in the ITV West region.
Trustee, Andrew Mason, said, "It's fantastic news that we've won. We're up and running and in business now.
"By June next year we should have a community garden, a community kitchen and repairs completed to the music room.
"We would like to thank the people of Wymering and Portsmouth for supporting us."
