Bond Between Animals and Humans Recognised in Awards Ceremony

Published: 10th February 2019 19:16

Last year's winner of Assistance Animal of the Year,
Kika and owner Amit Patel with his wife Seema
Nominations are now open for the Animal Star Awards which recognises the bond between animals and humans.

The prestigious finals will take place on Saturday 19th October at The Portsmouth Marriott Hotel which is hosting the Hampshire leg of the expanding and popular awards.

The inaugural Animal Star Awards in 2018 welcomed over 150 guests, both humans and animals, to an event presented by Mark Carter of BBC Radio.

Mary told AboutMyArea, "This year, the awards have been split into regions and the Hampshire region will mean that Portsmouth hosts the company's launch event, finalist announcement event and awards night."

Animal lover Mary formed the awards in 2016 with the aim of recognising what animals and humans do for each other.

You can nominate in fourteen categories including  Veterinary Surgeon Of The Year, Assistance Animal Of The Year, Best Pet Blogger and Rescue/Rehoming Centre Of The Year.

You can nominate at animalstarawards.com/nominations-2019/

The official launch of the awards takes place on the 20th March at the Marriott Hotel.

A national event in January 2020 will see winners from all regions have the chance to be crowned an Animal All Star.
