Signups are now open for 30 Days Wild 2019! 30 Days Wild is a yearly challenge from the Wildlife Trusts to do one ‘random act of wildness’ every day in June. This could be anything from listening to birdsong while you have your morning coffee to planting wildflowers in your garden or window-box.
Participants will receive a free pack from their local Wildlife Trust including a welcome letter, a wall-chart, a nature table template, a foldout list of 101 Random Acts of Wildness, a packet of wildflower seeds and some stickers.
Last year 2,559 people took part across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight – that’s 76,770 small actions for nature!
Gemma Paul and her little boy, who live in Hampshire, took part last year. Gemma said:
“We really enjoyed taking part in the 30 Days Wild challenge. There was a lot of fun to be had enjoying the outdoors and wonderful wildlife as well as making, baking, exploring and learning along the way.
“It was a great motivation to get out and about with my 4 year old son, spending quality time together talking, laughing and playing.”
Becky O’Melia, Education and Engagement Manager at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust said:
”30 Days Wild is such a fantastic way of getting outdoors, and bringing a little more wild in to your life. It’s not about doing anything extra, but about making little changes to your everyday life. My favourite activities from last year included having my morning coffee in the garden, inviting my friends for a walk instead of sitting on the sofa and eating dinner outside.
“Take a moment to enjoy wildlife every day in June, I promise you’ll feel happier and healthier for it.”
