WINCHESTER BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT is a voluntary organisation offering a support service to bereaved individuals in Winchester and the surrounding area. It is a registered charity, is independent and has no ties with either statutory bodies or the churches.

Support is normally given through home visits, made at the mutual convenience of client and Bereavement Visitor. Bereavement Visitors are trained volunteers who have completed a comprehensive course before appointment, and their work is supervised by professionally qualified counsellors.

A request for a visit should be made direct by the bereaved person, although this is often on the recommendation of their GP. The service is free and completely confidential.
