Towcester Sausage and Cider Festival returns to the town on Saturday 31st August 2019 after a three year absence.
The festival is a celebration of traditional English cider which pairs perfectly with the great British banger, says foodie and organiser Crispin Slee.
Mr Slee, who also runs the town’s food festival, said: “Cider and sausage are a perfect match. Steak tastes infinitely better with a glass of red wine – in fact it’s almost unconscionable to have one without the other. Well this is this same.
“As far as we are concerned, sausages and cider is the new strawberries and cream. Cider is also a perfect accompaniment to cheese and we have a cheesy treat at the festival too.”
As well as array of sausages, including smoked varieties, cheesewurst and chicken with spinach and feta, Good Times Café, titans of the street food movement in Milton Keynes, will be bringing their cute Citroen H van selling gourmet cheese toasties.
Live music is a key feature of the festival and four acts will take to the stage during the day, kicking off with some roots and blues and finishing with high energy covers band Jukebox MK.
Towcester Sausage and Cider Festival takes place at Towcestrians Sports Club in Greens Norton Road, Towcester, on Saturday August 31 2019 from noon to 10pm, featuring 30 different ciders.
