Northampton Old Scouts 13 - 62 Towcestrians

On a cold Friday night Tows gained a 10 try victory over local rivals Old Scouts, the Scouts honouring ex East Midlands President and Towcestrian, John Woolley, with a minutes silence before the game.

After containing early Scouts pressure and possession Tows applied there own pressure, choosing to kick a penalty from in front of the posts to the corner then driving over the line out, Tows winger Cam Young then crossed in the corner for James Falvey to convert. After missing an earlier penalty, Scouts slotted their second chance before Falvey took a penalty on offer to ease Tows into a half time lead of 3 - 15

The second half was all Towcestrians, Falvey throwing a Cipriani like long pass to Young for a second score, Scouts replied after a crossfield kick to the wing saw them go over and close the gap to 8 - 20, but this seemed to lift Tows who ran in six further tries with Craig Holton to the fore with a brace, five conversions also added, Scouts came back with a score of their own towards the end.

On Saturday, Tows 2nd XV played in highly entertaining and competitive game against Broadstreet 2nd XV. eventually running up a comprehensive 48 - 19 victory, while the Tows 3rds also ran up the same scoreline, ably assisted by some highly impressive Tows Colts against St. Neots 2nd XV for a terrific weekend of rugby for the Tows.
