Towcester Phab Club
Published: 2nd July 2007 12:47 |
Towcester Phab Club was started in 1989 by Jackie Williams. When Daventry Phab disbanded in 1992 the members joined the Towcester Club.
We meet fortnightly on Tuesday evenings in the Riverside Centre, Towcester from 7.00 pm. to 9.00 pm.
We have a mix of people with physical disabilities, sight and hearing problems and mild learning difficulties, whose ages range from 18 to 70+ ! Members come from Towcester and surrounding area so transport can sometimes be a problem but members and their families help each other out.
The members sometimes just want to talk and socialise but we do try to arrange some activities (quizzes, videos, music, bingo, games, barbeques, pub visits, etc.).
Phab originally used to stand for Physically Handicapped, Able Bodied but now it stands for People Have ABilities.
Phil Ford is our Chairman/Leader and can be contacted on 07889 534580
