South Northants Council Vice-Chairman Dies Only Days Before Being Appointed Chairman

Councillor Paul Farrow, vice-chairman of the council and a ward member for Grange Park who has died, photographed a fortnight ago.
South Northamptonshire Council regrets to announce the death of Councillor Paul Farrow, vice-chairman of the council and a ward member for Grange Park.
Councillor Farrow passed away on the night of 2 May 2012, the council is sending its condolences to his family.
He was elected district councillor for Grange Park and represented the council on the South Northants Homes board.
Throughout his time as a district councillor, he was a member of various South Northamptonshire Council committees, including:
- Licensing Committee
- Economic and Environmental Review and Development Committee
- Resources Review and Development Committee
- Audit Committee
- Community and Resources Review and Development Committee
- Service Delivery Review and Development Committee
Councillor Farrow was due to be appointed district council chairman at the annual meeting on Wednesday, 9th May.
Current chairman, Councillor Sally Townsend, will temporarily remain in office. She said: "I have known Paul for quite a number of years and I helped him a lot in his campaigning to become a councillor for Grange Park.
“He has been a very good councillor and always attended group and council meetings.
“He was a sterling councillor for Grange Park and would have been a wonderful chairman.”
The Editor of AboutMyArea/NN12 notes: "This is very sad news, and a very difficult year for the role, last year Councillor Diana Dallyn was appointed Vice-Chairman but she sadly died last autumn, Paul Farrow had not been in office long and also has just died days before being made Chairman."
