Brackley’s Great Central Big Band will take centre stage at the street food market at Towcester Food Festival in June.
The band, which boasts a 14-strong brass section, plays hits from the classic era of swing and will perform at lunchtime on both days of festival.
Festival founder Crispin Slee said: “At its heart, the festival is of course a celebration of good food and drink. But we have always prided ourselves on creating a happy vibe so people can sit and relax and enjoy the festival to the full.
“The Great Central Big Band will provide a wonderful adjunct to our two live music lawns and will perform from noon on both days. Their velvet-smooth vocals, thrilling drum solos and the big brass section will be the perfect accompaniment to lunch from street food market.”
Towcester Food Festival is a celebration of food and drink with up to 100 stalls bursting with artisan produce, free wine and gin tastings, live music lawns, and a free family circus.
Korean chef and cookery writer Da-Hae West will add spice to this year’s festival with twice daily demonstrations on the chef demo stage.
Among the other attractions are the 185 cocktail masterclasses, storytelling sessions for children, kids cookery classes and the Foodies Lounge with free talks from local food heroes including David Baker’s Steak School.
Towcester Food Festival 2018 takes place at Towcester Racecourse on Saturday June 9 and Sunday June 10, starting at 10am on both days. There is ample free parking.
Adult tickets are £6 in advance, or £8 on the day. Family tickets are £16 in advance. Tickets are on sale at: www.towcesterfoodfestival.co.uk.
Towcester Food Festival is supported by South Northamptonshire Council as part of the council’s drive to support tourism and the local economy.
