Lib Dems Surge in South Northants

Liberal Democrat winning candidate Bill Newton Dunn campaigning in Towcester last WednesdayThe Liberal Democrats surged to gain a strong second place across South Northamptonshire and in the UK as a whole. Bill Newton Dunn who campaigned in Towcester the day before the EU elections won a seat to represent the Lib Dems in the East Midlands.
Commenting, Liberal Democrat Councillor Martin Johns said: It was very encouraging to see Remain supporting parties combined taking more votes than the Brexit Party. This is a clear indication that the country wants a People’s Vote on the discredited Conservative deal for leaving the EU. For our prosperity, security and to meet the massive environmental challenge facing us all, we must continue to remain within the EU.”

Lab 5.1%
Change UK 4.5%
Locally the Liberal Democrats will now get back to exposing how the Conservatives are mismanaging Northamptonshire. With Conservative run Northamptonshire probably the worse managed council in England.
