The Plough was in on the act too with live music from 5 pm, the Editor of AboutMyArea/NN12 found landlord Nick Hastings in the back yard listening to The Herms - a local band.

But Towcester Rock Schools stole the night and this bodes well for Saturday evening too.

Bands featured in the town hall included:

  • Havok
  • The Outsiders
  • Red Dragons
  • Feedback
  • Pulse
  • Satanic Flumps
  • Amped Out
  • Ice Cold Jalapenos
  • Buried in a Bass Drum
  • The Performers
  • Lost Stolen or Strayed
  • Seven for a Secret
  • Ellipses
  • Roise and Jonny
  • Fury
  • D-Fault
  • Broken Revolution
  • Behind Closed Doors
  • Korrizion

The Editor of AboutMyArea/NN12 went along and managed a few snaps see slideshow at the bottom of this article but a few YouTube offerings too:

On Saturday the official start will be by the Mayor of Towcester Councillor David Linney at 7.15pm from the Town Hall steps, accompanied by the Eureka Trad Jazz Band, but several of the venues plan to have live music playing even earlier than that.  The music will continue until 10 or 11pm depending on the venue.  Many of the venues will be serving food and drink.

Admission will be by programme and this will give access to all of the venues – and there will be many choices.  You will be encouraged to visit as many as you like.

There will be performances of brass, ensemble, harp, choral, rock, folk, pop, rock tributes and jazz bands and this year a new treat – a ceilidh in the Town Hall, hosted by the ASHA Ceilidh Band who have played at festivals and venues all over the UK and Europe, so bring your dancing shoes and dance the night and your cares away.

We will present music for the whole Town and our neighbours in surrounding villages, with plenty of car parking space available.  Profits from this event will once again go to local causes and will be detailed in the programme.

Programmes are on sale now (£18 Family; £7 Adult; £5 Concession) at Colemans, the Dolphin and Towcester Tea Rooms and every venue on the night.

Towcester Town Hall, St Lawrence Church, Towcester Tea Rooms, The Dolphin Café, The Plough, The Pickled Pig, Pickled Pig Courtyard, The Saracen’s Head, Saracen’s Head Car Park, The Bull, Sponne School.
