Waxwings In Silverstone

We have had a fabulous display of 20 + waxwings in Silverstone from Friday 2nd February to Monday 7th. They are fabulous to watch and eating the crabapples off the tree at an astounding rate. We have taken numerous photos which will make a great screen saver.
What a wonderful sight to see in Silverstone, wonder if anyone else has seen them. Theyy now seem not to be so rare as a few years ago, is this climate change or the birds changing their eating / migration habits.

A beautiful sight, and a distinctive call, make them a welcome addition to our local wildlife, all be it for a brief period only as they will be migrating back to their summer feeding areas as the weather gets warmer.
