Coral Mapping Conservation Expedition Needs You! Seminar - Sun 15th July 2012

Author: Mike, Coral Mapping Published: 13th July 2012 20:28
Beautiful coral reef and marine life
Join our expedition team to save the Philippine coral reef?

Coral Mapping Conservation needs you - they are looking for volunteers 18 years of age and over for a conservation expedition to the Philippines to safeguard the coral reef for future generations.

Coral is being destroyed by dynamite and cyanide fishing. Coral Mapping Conservation's task is to survey, map, re-generate and re-educate the local populas on what is happening and how to repair the damage.

There is a Philippine Government approved plan, it is working, coral is being re-generated and fishermen are beginning to understand the impact of destructive fishing practices, but the progress is slow - they need more people....like minded people with enthusiasm, commitment and community spirit.

It is not a holiday, it is a self funded 2 to 6 week adventure expedition, which will give you the opportunity to make a difference that counts.  Bored of beach holidays, looking for something exciting and interesting - then look no further.

To find out more, come to a seminar on Sunday 15th July between 3pm to 6pm at:

South Woodham Ferrers Rugby Club

Saltcoats Park, Ferrers Road

South Woodham Ferrers

Chelmsford, Essex, CM3 5WA

No experience needed, anyone can contribute, all are welcome. Training is provided where needed. It's not just about diving!

It is not a holiday, it can be hard work, but it will be rewarding, varied and interesting work and there will be plenty of time to relax with your new found friends and enjoy all this stunning country and its hospitable people have to
offer.

Immerse yourself in the local culture and beautiful surroundings. This conservation project should be as enjoyable as it is beneficial to the local people.

The coral reef was once the centre of marine diversity and home to 2,000 different types of fish, but now only 5% of coral remains undamaged and the devastating consequences are becoming evident. No fish, no food, no jobs, no future!
