As the 2013 MotoGP™ World Championship gets underway in Qatar this weekend, Silverstone is urging fans to make the most of its ‘Kids Go Free’* policy for this year’s Hertz British Grand Prix (MotoGP™), taking place on 30 August – 01 September. The deadline for booking free General Admission and Roving Grandstand tickets for children is 17:00hrs on 02 May. After this, a General Admission ticket for children aged 15 and under will be £17.50 for the Saturday and £35 for the Sunday. A child’s Roving Grandstand ticket, only available on the Sunday, will cost £40. However, child tickets for the Friday will remain free of charge.

Pre-season testing has set the scene for an exciting season ahead, after British rider Cal Crutchlow (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) set the fastest lap time at the final test, ahead of nine-times World Champion Valentino Rossi. With Crutchlow targeting the top step of the podium in 2013 and Rossi’s return to the Factory Yamaha Racing team, where he’ll share a garage with 2012 World Champion and fellow title-contender Jorge Lorenzo, anticipation is building in both the paddock and amongst the fans. Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa has also looked impressive in testing and will, once again, be challenging for is first World Championship title.

With the British Grand Prix now the 12th round of the Championship, the riders will be battling for crucial points, as the championship reaches the ‘business end’ of the season. And there will be plenty of home grown talent for British fans to get behind at the UK’s premier motorcycle racing event: Cal Crutchlow, Bradley Smith (both Monster Yamaha Tech 3) and Michael Laverty (Paul Bird Racing) will be flying the Union Jack flag in the MotoGP™ class; while Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing Team), Danny Kent (Tech 3) and Kyle Smith (Blusens Avintia) are the Brits to beat in Moto2™. In Moto3™, Danny Webb (Ambrogio Racing) and John Mcphee (Caretta Technology – RTG) complete the line-up for ‘Team GB’ at Silverstone.

With spectacular racing guaranteed, fans and families can also take advantage of an action-packed programme of off-track entertainment, including bike displays, air displays, interactive experiences, fun fairs and live concerts throughout the weekend.

Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, said: “MotoGP™ is one of the highlights of the British sporting season and the British Grand Prix is the only chance for fans to see their MotoGP™ heroes here in the UK. With a host of on and off-track entertainment, for all the family, we are reminding fans that they only have a limited amount of time to make the most of our Kids Go Free policy.”

Tickets for the 2013 Hertz British Grand Prix (MotoGP™) are on sale. To take advantage of the ‘Kids Go Free’ offering, or for further information, visit www.silverstone.co.uk.

*‘Kids go free’: Child tickets are for children aged 15 years and under at the time of the Event. Children using a child ticket must be accompanied by a full paying adult. Each full paying adult may bring up to a maximum of four children.
