Weston and Lois Weedon Drama Group will be presenting “The Factory Children” in Lois Weedon Village Hall on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th February 2017 at 7.30pm.
The story is set in the mid 1830’s when seven year olds were still made to work long hours in textile mills.
The factory owner’s children became involved with children from their father’s factory and these rich children are made aware of what it is like to be poor.
This is all played out against the background of the 1833 Factory Act and the general spirit of reform around at the time.
Much of the play is performed by talented youngsters and is wrapped around an original musical score.
Please come and enjoy a wonderful evening’s entertainment (and get a bit of education as well!).
