Dragon on the loose in Neston Library!

A fire-breathing monster has taken up residence in the Library this week, in preparation for the Neston Spring Festival of St George.
The intrepid staff, led by Library Manager Susannah Hill, have managed to contain the beast to one end of the building, where it is happily holding court over the library's St George's exhibition.
To celebrate Spring, a maypole has also been installed - with ribbons flowing from the central column in the children's book section.
In other Spring Festival news, a banner has gone up outside Neston Parish Church, kindly sponsored by Project Rural Matters; and Festival organisers will be interviewed live on BBC Radio Merseyside on Thursday morning to talk about how the Festival came about, and all the events taking place to celebrate Spring and the patron saint of England.
Judging of the Art Competition will take place on Wednesday afternoon, after which the pictures will be displayed at the Town Hall where the Neston and District Art Society (NADAS) are holding their annual art exhibition this weekend. The people with the unenviable task of deciding which entries deserve the prizes (kindly donated by the Rotary Club of Neston) will be Susannah Hill, Ron Chalmers (NADAS) and Eileen Miller (CAN Group).
"St George and the Dragon" (courtesy of CAN Group) will be touring schools in the area on Thursday, visiting Parkgate Primary, St Winefride's and Neston Primary in the morning, then Woodfall Primary and Bishop Wilson in the afternoon. The dragon will also be putting in an appearance at Neston High School on Saturday during the "Neston Performs" concert.
