The Irish dairy farmers who own Kerrygold butter, are a great example of how working as a cooperative can be beneficial for everyone involved.  Working together is more fun and more productive as everyone is working to a common goal and when there are problems, it's easier to solve with the support of others around you.  "It's great to have a stake in the business and an equal say in how the business in run. We are proud and passionate about what we do and being able to share what we have achieved is one of the great advantages to working in a cooperative," beams Michael Crowley, one of the farmers featured in the new Kerrygold advert.

Kerrygold farmers believe that many others are doing the same and that those who work to bring benefits to their communities as a whole, should be recognised and rewarded.  The result is the launch of the Kerrygold Farmer Cooperative Awards.

The Kerrygold Irish dairy farmers want to hear about the most inspirational examples of cooperative and community spirit.

This category is looking for examples of people coming together to solve a problem within their community, rallying around someone who needed a helping hand or possibly a local charity or business that needed fund raising.  It could be something you thought your community was lacking and would benefit from - environmental or social.
