Schoolchildren in the Neston area were recently invited to participate in an art competition.
Organiser Councillor Wayne Sharkey explains: "Several weeks ago Neston Town Council launched its Primary Schools Art Competition with the topic: 'What I like about the Neston area.'

"As an inclusive council, we very much value our children's opinions and involvement. The competition gave the council our first opportunity to engage with the local primary schools, which play such an important part in our community.
"We had nearly four hundred entries which captured a range of areas such as the local parks, the Wirral Way and various buildings.
"The children have put a great deal of time and thought into their works and should be congratulated for their efforts. It was a difficult decision for the judges to pick the winners from the high standards attained.
"The winners were presented with certificates and book tokens. I would like to thank the teachers, parents and children for their help in making the competition a success and look forward to seeing the winning entries displayed at Neston Library shortly."
The overall winner was Woodfall pupil Ella Butler, with her colourful depiction (below) of Little Neston, Ness Gardens and the Marsh at Parkgate.
All the winners were presented with certificates and book tokens by Neston Town Council Chairman, Cllr Moira Andrews, this week.
