Crossroads Care Cheshire West & Wirral would like to invite people to participate in this years Wirral Coastal Walk 2010.
The 15 mile walk takes place on Sunday 23 May from Seacombe Ferry Terminal to Thurstaston Country Park Visitor Centre.
The event is great for people of all ages and abilities and is a fabulous way to view the beautiful coastline of Wirral. There are bands at the start and finish of the walk, and those not wishing to walk the whole route can complete their walk at any of the three control points at Harrison Drive (5 miles), Kings Gap (10 miles) and Shore Road, Caldy (13 miles).
Crossroads Care is looking for enthusiastic walkers to fundraise at this event and raise much needed funds to support their CAMEO groups in the Wirral area.
The Cameo club aims to offer support to both carers and those they care for by providing a place in which people can meet and socialise, while at the same time receiving the therapeutic support they need. The benefit is two fold as the person with dementia is supported, while the carers also get a break.
Lucy Whiting, Director of Fundraising and Marketing says: "Many carers and their families describe the groups as a "lifeline" that they simply could not function without.
"We are desperate to raise funds to continue this essential support service for people with dementia and their carers".
There is a £3 entry fee per adult walker and £1 per child walker (aged 10 and under) which is payable on the day and all walkers who complete will receive a goody bag.
