On Saturday 12 March, a group of sponsored walkers, including several dogs, set off from Parkgate and Neston United Reformed Church to raise money for Christian Aid.

Lynne Vaughan, Secretary of Neston and District Christian Aid Committee, said: "Last year we raised over £2,000, and we are hoping to do even better this year."
David Hinton and Jordan Henshaw carried a heavy bucket filled with bottles of water the full distance, to feel what it is like for poor people who have to carry all their water every day. Both are members of St Winefride's Youth St Vincent de Paul Society, and are in year 10 at Neston High School.
Mrs Barbara Hulme, whose husband Ken first planned the walks more than 45 years ago, joined in for the stretch to Gayton. The participants enjoyed refreshments at Gayton, and then home-made soup and bread at the end of the walk at the URC.
